But, have you given a thought on breastfeeding in the initial week?

Some would-be-mums might think- what's the rocket science? Is there anything to learn? Breastfeeding is natural, it's normal; all you need is to put your breast in your baby's mouth and your baby nurse.

This might come as a surprise to many that this is not always the case. There can be some struggles when moms start to breastfeed, some of them might get fixed quickly while others can be more challenging and take a while.

How to make breastfeeding easy in the first week?

Here, we would like to tell you 4 important things that will make breastfeeding in the initial stage a hassle-free experience!

Catch the feeding signals!

Sometimes, moms need to strengthen their already strong bond with the baby by catching the signals, understanding the reflexes, these signals are important for feeding. Often, you will find your baby-making sucking motions, sucking everything that is nearby, and this is how the baby talks! Your baby wants to say- Hey Mom! I'm hungry, feed me!

And, if your baby is crying, he/she wants to tell you- Hey Mom, Sorry, I can't be nice anymore, you missed my signals and now I'm going to make breastfeeding a little difficult.

It's important to catch those signals and feed your baby more often, it will surely be a great start and your baby will be happy!

The tricky second night!

You can find your baby up all night, the second night with your baby can be a bit tricky. The baby might ask for some frequent feeding which is normal!

This is a natural process and you don't really need to interfere as your baby is doing what needs to be done. Notice if your baby had a couple of wet diapers and a poop in the last 24 hours, all you need is to feed on regular intervals, your baby will be more content and that's what you want!

You don't need to feel the nipple pain

You must have heard some simple hurting breastfeeding stories, but it doesn't need to be painful. Tenderness in the nipples is common as sometimes your baby can put some extra pressure on your nipples. The fun part, it can make you bring your shoulders up to your ears, and curl your toes!

Getting your baby latched deeply by putting your nipples way back in the baby's mouth and adjusting your breastfeeding position can prove to be helpful!

Ask for support in the beginning!

Hire a doula or ask an expert in case you need help! Having some troubles when you are breastfeeding for the first time is common and doesn't need to be taken very seriously.
